Faker

Last night at bedtime T grabbed her blanket and pink bear, I grabbed our new sound machine and a can of WD-40 and we went downstairs to her room. As we passed by the couch where our roommate lives it was clear she was asleep. She was lying down covered up and definitely not watching the TV. S sprayed the door hinges, T complained to me about the noise the sound machine was making, and eventually she was asleep. When I went upstairs S said that our roommate went upstairs as well to tell him she wasn’t sleeping. She said lately she has been pretending to sleep because she feels T has been stand off-ish.

So to “get back” at the child for being standoffish the adult is withholding interaction when the child initiates it? Got it.
